Piano and live coding

Projects

Off<>zz is my main, ongoing live coding and piano project. Comprised of Felipe Ignacio Noriega live coding and myself on piano/toypiano/vocals, Off<>zz explores electro-acoustic music via improvisation and transformation of our classical-music influences into a more collective experience. More here.

“Duets” by Marcel Weirckx is a series of shorter works for for disklavier, pianist and live coder.“Ostinato” from the Duets was selected to be performed at the Live Code Festival in Karlsruhe and is now available for viewing on iTunesU.

In November 2013, Off<>zz and Juan A. Romero were invited to undertake a residency at STEIM, Amsterdam, focusing on collaborative live coding and the laptop as a chamber music instrument. Here’s a track from our presentation concert

”Type a Personality” is a work for solo live coding pianist composed by Nicholas M Collins. To be premiered in 2015!

Following our joined collaboration at Steim, Juan A. Romero and I also undertook a disklavier project in January 2014. It concluded in a performance of two improvisations for disklavier, pianist and coder. Watch the video.
